All classes are 6 weeks long and 45 minutes in length unless otherwise noted.

This is designed for dogs of any age that need a foundation.  In this class you and your pup will learn:

-How to use a marker word or clicker.  All training is done with positive reinforcement

-Basic commands: Watch, Sit, Down, Stand, Coming When Called, Leave It, Stay, and Loose Leash Walking, Greeting People Politely

-How to address problem behaviors: Nipping & Chewing, Jumping, Barking, Potty Training, Socialization, Fear & Anxiety, and Crate Training

This is designed for dogs that have completed Puppy Fundamentals or Basic Manners Class.  At the end of this class, your puppy will be given the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy test.  In this class you and your dog will learn:

-How to keep your dog’s attention on you while working with distractions

-How to expand on stay and coming when called with both distance and distractions

-How to work on impulse control with your dog

-How to teach your dog to walk in the heel position

-Settle / Place / Spot- Shaping Exercise

So your dog has taken several obedience classes at your training facility, what now? Let’s translate this into real life situations. This 45 minute class will meet for six weeks at different venues in the area. We will work on having your dog “check-in” with you, walking on a loose leash, settling next to you, coming when called, and greeting people politely, and other commands all while life goes on around them.

This is designed for dogs and their handlers that would like to try the sport of Rally Obedience.  Dogs should have a reliable stay command and should have a reasonable grasp on formal heel.  In this class you and your dog will learn:

-How to read and relay to your dog the 43 Novice Rally Signs

-The rules and regulations of Rally Obedience

-How to walk a course

-How to work with your dog as a team while navigating through a course

-How to work with your dog through distractions

The first five weeks will work on the ten steps of the test and the final week will be your evaluation.  Dogs that do not pass the first time are welcome to take the test again at a later date for no extra charge.

-CGC is a ten-skill training program that’s open to all dogs–purebred and mixed breed–that focuses on teaching the basics of good manners and obedience, instilling the values of responsible ownership, and strengthening the bond between you and your dog at home and out in the community.

-After mastering the ten skills, passing the CGC test together, and taking the Responsible Dog Ownership pledge, you and your pup will join the proud ranks of over 1 million dogs who have earned their Canine Good Citizen award– accomplishment that’s definitely worthy of extra belly rubs!

Already took AKC Canine Good Citizen?  We also offer AKC Community Canine/CGC Urban Public Access and AKC Trick Dog Novice Titles.

Prerequisite:  Puppy Fundamentals 2 or a consultation with the trainer

This class will introduce dog and owner to the sport of agility in a no pressure environment with a sampling of agility obstacles, basic obedience, and learning to work around distractions.  This is a great opportunity to see if agility is for you!

Has your dog already taken an introductory agility course?  Obility 2 is a great opportunity to continue your training!

Prerequisite:  Puppy Fundamentals or other foundation course

Do you have a dog that lunges, barks, or growls at other dogs or people in an aggressive manner?  If yes, we can help!  In this class you will learn how to do the following using proven positive reinforcement techniques:

-Teach your dog to give you an alternative behavior and remain calm when they see something that is scary or upsetting

-Build or strengthen your dog's attention to you

-Practice your handling skills, foundation behaviors, and calming techniques

Continue to build on the skills learned with our Reactive Dog 2 class and start practicing in real world scenarios!

                            Must have taken Reactive Dog 1 to enroll in Reactive Dog 2
